Less Is More…

Earlier this week I had a very interesting discussion on the power of “Letting Go” (a little plug here for Joanne Cipressi – if you haven’t checked out her blog and weekly tweetchat every Thursday at 11am ET #inspirechat, you are missing the boat) As the conversation progressed the group discussed the power of letting go and getting ourselves to the core of what is really important. We are not the material items that we have collected over the years, it’s not about who has the most toys…it’s about what matters most. When we really get down to brass tax, we have to at the end of the day be content with ourselves. The more we disconnect from our past, we make room for more blessings and we eliminate items that can be holding us back. These items can be material or people. The time we take to evaluate what is important in our lives, the better we can open ourselves up to even more abundance. This abundance is better connections with those who really make a difference in our lives and business as well items that we can use to enrich our lives. Ever notice when we have so much “stuff” things tend to get lost in the shuffle? That favorite purse or sweater we had to have…gets tossed to the back of the closet when the latest and greatest appears on the scene? Too much stuff and we lose track of what is really important to us. It happens with our core values as well, we tend to get swayed by the latest shiny thing and we lose ourselves in the pursuit. The less we have, the more we appreciate and can be grateful for what we do possess within. With less, there is not much to clutter the view we have of our lives. We can see the clarity in our decisions and make choices that lead us down the path to success. Less gives you the chance to see that simple isn’t complicated, it boils everything down to its essence. We know, or at least we should, that material items do not define who we at the core. Our values, character are the collateral that is our currency in this world. We are not the car, the brand name clothes or the size of houses; we are who we are even with those items.

The more you let go, the more you have. What do you think?
