In the End, We Get By With A Little Help From Our Friends #bealeader
Music has a way to communicate our personality and can inspire us as well. Music has the power to communicate what we may not be able to put into words at times as well. We relate through music to make connections with others and in leadership, it can be a great tool to bring others together. I use music in my leadership to bridge the gap and break down barriers that may exist within teams. I do believe that many of us try to create a soundtrack to our lives through our music. Music is one way to transcend our lives and lift us in attitude when we need it as well.
Yesterday, I posed the question on our #bealeader FB page “What Beatles Song Would Best Describe Your Leadership Style?” and I wanted to extend the question to the GingerSpice blog as well and share some of the responses received so far.
Dave Moore, The Moore Consortium, suggested “The Magical Mystery Tour” Peg Gillard suggested “In the End” Sage Bramhall, MySageAdvice, bought forth “With A Little Help From My Friends” and Daniel Buhr rounded out the selections to “Let It Be”
On my own picks, my top 5 would be:
So what say you? Do you agree with the suggestions or do you have one of your own to add to the discussion? Feel free to post your links in our comments sections.
Love this! I’m going with Imagine by John Lennon! (Close enough for all you sticklers out there.)
Close enough, Jennifer. Imagine – what a great song and very much in line with leadership. Thank you
Though I am really more of a Stones guy myself, I would say In My Life.
Thanks, Greg. In My Life – great song. I’ve been partial to the Stones, Led Zep and The Doors, Pink Floyd too….but I come back to the Beatles to cleanse the palette so to speak
I’m with Greg: “In My Life” is my all time favourite Beatles song. But then again…you know that anything Beatles is fab:)
Thanks, Kaarina. I know you are a huge fan of the Beatles. In My Life is on my top of all Beatles songs.
Music is so essential in our lives I place it in 3rd place after water and food and before love.
Love all 60/70s rock…Deep Purple #1. The Beatles & The Monkees was my cradle music and got me through early childhood.
I choose two Beatles songs even if there are so many great songs that I relate to.
“We Can Work It Out”
“Here, There and Everywhere”
Here, There, and Everywhere. I was hoping someone would post that one, Enzo. A great leadership song from the Beatles. I go back my childhood in the 70′s with music. I tend to use it in my writing a lot as well. Cheers
That’s a tough one. I cheated because I looked at my iTunes. However, I’m going to go with Getting Better. I’m not going to lie, I wanted to go with something Sgt. Pepper just to freak you all out.
Thanks, Kenna. Getting Better is one my favorites as well. “For the Benefit of Mr. Kite” would be having been an interesting choice, IMO, off St. Pepper.
I think I would have to say that With a Little Help From My Friends Would Probably be Mine as well!
Glad to hear another vote for that number. Thanks.
